Some vid recs I pilfered from my own journal to get us started.

Sherlock (BBC)

Complicit (BBC Sherlock) by lola. A keenly intelligent and thoughtful consideration of the Orientalism in the second episode the Sherlock series. She uses text and visuals the the maximum effect, building not only a strong POV for a character who is largely absented, but also renders clear a bigger overall picture.

Untitled 221 by bendthesun. Holmes/Watson. Simply breathtaking. So beautiful it hurts.

Humming One of Your Songs by trelkez. Poignant, elegant. Visually poetic, the vidder tells a very moving version of events through John's POV.

Sherlock Holmes (2009 film)

Fever by talitha78. A witty Holmes/Watson vid, with clever use of movement and visuals. Winsome, a little bit naughty and will absolutely make you smile.

Untitled Holmes vid by giandujakiss: Lyrical and high spirited Holmes/Watson vid. Makes adept use of source and the vid has wonderful musicality to it.

Also, is anyone interested in making a layout or header by chance?

Rules Change

I've made some slight changes to the posting rules:

1) All large graphics (ANYTHING WIDER THAN 350 PIXELS) and/or lengthy vid summaries/explanations must go under an lj-cut.

Embedded videos should also be placed under an lj-cut.

Vidders who forget to do this will be reminded by a mod then have a limited amount of time (about a day) before the post is deleted. You can repost at any time, of course, as long as you remember to use lj-cuts when necessary.

2) Please include spoiler warnings for any recently aired films or TV episodes. Posts which do not include spoiler warnings are liable to be removed - after being reminded by a mod to include warnings. You can repost at any time, given you use spoiler warnings.

For the time being, spoiler warnings are not in effect. The comm will be notified if they are.

The template for vid posts has been removed. Just make sure you put large graphics and long summaries under a cut, and, if the source you're using has only recently shown, include spoiler warnings.

Right now spoiler warnings are not in effect, so feel free to spoiler warn - or not - at your own discretion.
